Structural Isomerism

Structural isomerism is the variations in structures between two or more molecules having the same molecular formula.

Even if two molecules have the same molecular formula, their elaborately drawn structures would have different connections of atoms. How they connect would even translate into different physical and chemical characteristics.

In the chapter, we elaborately cover how to identify structural isomerism in molecules, covering six subtypes.

Chapter Structural Isomerism covers-

  • Introduction
  • Chain Isomerism
  • Position Isomerism
  • Functional Isomerism
  • Tautomerism
  • Metamerism
  • Ring-Chain Isomerism
